1. Nature of This Reference

Newington Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, portals, and historical collections concerning Newington, Connecticut. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with Newington Town Clerk, Assessor or GIS, election offices, courts, libraries, state agencies, or any other custodian.

2. Lawful Rules of Use

Use the pages and anything reached through them only for lawful, personal, and responsible purposes. You may not:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm a person
  • Use a result to locate someone protected by an order or confidentiality program
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, impersonation, or another offense
  • Make a credit, employment, housing, insurance, tenant-screening, or other FCRA-regulated decision
  • Scrape, republish, or copy the pages at scale
  • Interfere with the service, its security, or its linked forms

3. No Consumer-Reporting Function

The reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither the text here nor a result returned by a linked search tool is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Outside Portals and Links

Newington, Connecticut, court, library, archive, and state portals have their own terms, privacy practices, prices, and availability. Sponsored search tools are also operated by third parties. Newington Residents Directory is not responsible for an outside service's content, data practices, charge, interruption, or result.

5. No Warranty of Currency

The pages are offered “as is” and “as available.” No promise is made that a description, fee, office hour, coverage date, URL, map layer, directory run, or search result is accurate, complete, current, or available. Verify with the custodian before relying on a record.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of these pages or a linked resource. That limitation includes actions or decisions based on a public record discovered through the reference.

7. Your Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless the operators from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that results from your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.

8. Copyright and Copying

The original writing, design, logo, and page layout belong to the operators or their licensors and are protected by copyright. Brief quotations with attribution and ordinary links are welcome. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted.

9. Revisions

These terms may be changed by posting a new version on this page. Continued use after the revised text is posted means that the updated terms apply to future use.

10. Access Restrictions

The operators may block or restrict access, with or without notice, when a person violates these terms, abuses a page, interferes with security, or creates a risk for the service or other readers.

11. Connecticut Law

Connecticut law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Connecticut's Freedom of Information Act, CGS §§1-200 through 1-242, governs access to records held by public agencies; it does not make this private reference a custodian. Connecticut's Data Privacy Act, CGS Chapter 743jj, may govern personal-data rights within its scope and exceptions. Public-record corrections and access requests belong with the office that holds the record.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to operate to the extent permitted by law.

13. Questions About These Terms

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Questions about a Newington record should go to the named Town Clerk, Assessor, GIS, registrar, court, probate, vital, library, archive, or state custodian.
